School and Community Garden Project
AVFP introduced a school garden project to help sustain the feeding program as well as provide agricultural training in the community, to boost their production and incomes. AVFP provided the land and seeds to initiate this project. These gardens are also a way to utilize and improve small pieces of land, which in many instances lay barren.
A school garden involves a tangible asset-- food--that draws children, parents, and community member to the school. This project has brought the community together for a common purpose.
